"Ahsen's Eidetic Psychotherapy is a major innovation
in the traditions of psychotherapy that is as neurologically informed
as it is humanistically and holistically conceived. Eidetics is
emphatically not a new wrinkle in psychotherapy. It is, in fact,
a new psychotherapy."

Eidetic
Imagery Training Program |
| |
The Eidetic Imagery Certificate Program gives participants
a comprehensive foundation in the field of Imagery Psychology,
as founded by the world’s leading researcher and theoretician
in the field, Dr. Akhter Ahsen. It is designed to meet the needs
of health care professionals, educators, therapists, psychologists,
and those interested in self-growth.
Eidetic Imagery, a profound resource within, is an ancient
healing art which modern science is now “discovering”
as the direct link to the brain chemicals that influence emotional,
physical, and spiritual well being. Eidetics are special images,
which are neurologically recorded in the brain of one’s
life experience. They contain three basic elements known as
I – S – M (I – the visual component, S –
the somatic component, which are the physical and emotional
states associated with it, and M – the meaning or significance
of the experience.) Working with Eidetics enables one to access
the specific images of their personal history, which impacts
their emotional, mental, and physiological health. The Eidetic
overcomes fixed negative states and brings forth the power and
vibrancy of one’s original genetic capacity.
The Eidetic Image, in contemporary scientific research, is
intimately
associated with Dr. Akhter Ahsen, scientist, poet, philosopher,
who has developed a field of Eidetic study that spans the disciplines:
clinical and experimental psychology, literature, art, education,
religious studies and mythology. His approach is the art and
science of dealing with consciousness, and his prolific writings
have influenced psychology as we know it today.
The Eidetic Imagery Training Certificate Program is comprised
of four courses of five days each over two years at Esalen Institute.
The program, both didactic and experiential, provides a solid
foundation in Eidetic methodology and practice and encourages
individual applications for specialized research. The Eidetic
Certificate is awarded through the International Imagery Association
after the two year training program and completion of an individualized
project tailored to the individual’s specific interest.
Upon completion, individuals may apply to be Institute trainers.
The five-day segments are offered approximately every six months.
Faculty: Dr. Akther Ahsen, special guest presenter; Jaqueline
Lapa Sussman and Leslie J. Dagnall, core faculty, as well as
outstanding trainers from National and International Training
Institutes.

About Akhter Ahsen
Dr. Akhter Ahsen, acknowledged worldwide as the leading pioneer,
theorist and practitioner in mental imagery, has authored 30 books
and numerous articles on imagery. He is a Fellow of the American
Psychological Association, the editor of the prestigious scientific
Journal of Mental Imagery and the founding Chairman of the International
Imagery Association. When his first book appeared on the scene,
the psychological arena took note: “American psychiatry is
indeed fortunate to have the stimulation and enrichment of Ahsen’s
highly original and creative presence.” Existential Psychiatry.
Dr. Ahsen’s creative enrichment has been written about by
top scholars in their respective fields: Ernest R. Hilgard, Psychology;

evolves all the avenues of modern man’s exploration and renewal
against the backdrop of the vast emptiness of the desert Joseph
Campbell said, “You did not write this, you received it.”
